The JW Marriott has one of the best locations in the city. It’s within easy walking distance from a number of famous sites, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture, White House, National Mall, and more.

If you want to head further out, the hotel is just a few blocks away from Metro Center, a big transit hub where you can pick up a number of subway lines.

With Chinatown, Penn Quarter, and other lively neighborhoods nearby, you’ll find plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from during your stay.

Amenities

JW Marriott

A number of useful amenities are included with a room at the JW Marriott, such as:

  • 24 hour, well-equipped fitness center
  • Free WiFi for Marriott Bonvoy members (Marriott’s free to join rewards program)
  • Cushy robes and Frette slippers
  • In-room coffee maker
  • Minifridges

The hotel also has a number of recently renovated ballrooms and conference rooms available for events.

The Rooms

Despite the hotel’s more than 700 rooms, the property never feels crowded, thanks to an ingenious smart elevator system. Simply input your floor and you’ll be directed to a designated elevator that will take you there, eliminating the long waits that can sometimes plague larger hotels.

There are a number of different room types to choose from at the JW Marriott. Room sizes range from 300 square feet for a standard guestroom to 1,785 square feet for a spacious suite.

Upgrading to a Premiere Monument View room is definitely worth the splurge. These large (450 square feet) rooms located on higher floors feature some of the best views in the city, with the Washington Monument as a focal point.

For a truly special experience, opt for one of the Presidential Suites, which include access to a semi-private rooftop deck with incredible skyline vistas.

Dining

The JW Marriott’s Avenue Grill restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For a unique experience, book the Le Petit Chef 4K Digital Experience, a dinner and tableside animated show.

Make sure to stop by the hotel’s famous 1331 Bar & Lounge (open for dinner daily plus brunch on Sundays) to have a gin rickey at the site where the cocktail was said to have been invented.
